Great for adults and kids. Kids exhibits for as little as 2 year olds, right through to stuff for adults as well. Free entry, and a well laid out area. Definitely will be back!!

Free to visit. Informative and easy to read information. Very friendly staff. I thought there might have been some more information about the Oamaru stone.

Beautifully renovated with modern interior and accessible items such as rocks and minerals in draws with clear glass lids. There are also nice exhibits upstairs, I enjoyed seeing the show about Oamaru industries and it was interesting seeing the miniature house and the outfit people wear at the freezing works including an apron made of chains. There was also a lolly exhibit on show at the time.

Lovely local history museum. Entry is free with an optional donation that wasn’t pushed on us. Henry wandered over and gave us some amazing insights about the displays and how they relate to each other. Lots of information and don’t forget to have a look in the drawers they’re full of little treasures
