My friends said I only liked it so much because it had AC, seating, and was free. Besides that it also has interesting exhibits with lots of commentary in English and Portuguese. One minor minus is that we didn't see a bathroom, but that might have been just that we didn't see it.

Fully-free museum with lots of informative content and practicle informations about the history, the life, the people and the vibe of the town of Cascais. And it was a very modern exhibition too, especially the immersive room felt like you were floating through outer space. I can only recommend it, it saved me even from one of those notorious spring rain showers outside.

First off, it is free to visit. Just check the hours because we went on Sunday and they closed for lunch and are not open on Monday, which is not unusual in Portugal. It was also not very busy. Such a nice local museum to visit and learn more about the history of Cascais and Estoril. Some excellent artifacts and interactive displays. We spent about an hour. The staff at the front desk were not very helpful (almost felt we were bothering them being there) but that doesn't take away from a must

Very interesting and professionally curated [thanks to EU funding] free museum with some older artefacts but most compelling display was a selection of monochrome film reels about leisure, tourism and culture from the early 20th century with subtitles in both Portuguese and English.
