To be honest, Văcărești Natural Park is one of those places that feels like a hidden secret you almost don't want to share. It’s a breathtaking anomaly—this wild, 183-hectare ecosystem that literally grew out of the ruins of a failed communist-era reservoir. People call it the "Urban Delta" of Bucharest, and for good reason. It’s a surreal escape where nature has completely reclaimed a concrete wasteland just minutes from the busy city center. What I love about it is its raw, untamed character.

I don’t know what to think of this place along with the city of Bucharest. It feels like you’re in a nuclear war zone, like a scene in The Last of Us.

It doesn’t seem maintained like a park and it was really dry when we went at the end of the summer. I couldn’t tell it was a delta.

Beautiful wild nature in the heart of Bucharest, that I really hope will remain like this. I used to come here with my family 30 years ago and is so nice to see that this area has escape untouched by the modern times of “erase nature and grow buildings”. You can walk, you can ride your bike,is nice and peaceful and full of life.

It is a pretty place, a peaceful chunk of greenness in the middle of a busy city. Yet I would discourage everyone from visiting it. It's extremely dodgy, dirty and there is a lot of shattered glass. But the "cherry on the cake" was intense chemical scent on the South-Western edge of the park. I'm an experienced urban explorer yet I've never encountered anything like this.
