Even if you ascend to the mountain summit via the Narikara Cable Car, you cannot descend towards the Narikara Fortress area, which is currently under construction (as of October 2025).
Walking in the opposite direction, however, I came upon the enormous Mother of Georgia statue, with staircases descending to the left and right. Following these steps downwards while gazing out over the city of Tbilisi, I arrived at this church.
The Sion Church in the old town centre is, of course, splendid. But

Church of the Nativity of the Savior in Upper Bethlehem. From the church of Bethlehem you can see wonderful views of Tbilisi. The church is a cross-domed building. It is located in one of the oldest microdistricts of Old Tbilisi, on the slope of the Sololak ridge. Due to the rocky terrain, this area is also called Rock area.
