The tunnel is safe, with no risk of a landslide. I checked this with my extensive knowledge of the construction industry. Turn on your headlamp on bad weather days, or you'll end up on a guided tour in the emergency room sooner than expected! The tunnel is an alternative for pedestrians and cars to reach the coastal area. Although it's lit from above, it's very dark to walk along. On the left, however, are steps that lead to the viewpoint, and continuing past the small park at the top, you can descend via another short flight of steps to the Fishermen's Wharf.
