Tu Vien Co Ta Phin is the ruins of an old monastery. If you like ruins, like we do, this was pretty cool.
This ruin is about 20 minutes outside of Sapa Town. There are several Red Dao women that will try their beautiful handmade goods.
The monastery is just a few steps from the road. Beautiful landscape to take pictures. We spent about 20 minutes here.
It is interesting to see an old abandoned monastery being taken over by nature. Beautiful.

A very unique tourist attraction of an era past. This old French church looks like it has been partially demolished with most of its brick floors missing but the sidewalls still standing. It is a truly classical architecture style with cornices and arches. There is red moss growing on almost all brick/stone surfaces across the entirety of the building. We saw this church ruin from the road and decided to stop and visit. There isnt very much to see but ruins have their own charm. Part of the building has collapsed so it's not safe to enter. There were a group of local tribe ladies at the site selling hand made items and they can be pretty persistent to make a sale.

Sadly abandonned but however free to visit and enjoy by yourself. The structure is pretty still standing and just the roof is missing. It can be an interesting stop on the road to Lao Cai. The road to there is good and with a nice scenery.

It's just the ruins. I wouldn't go there just for this but if you're already going to Ta Phin village, get your driver to stop by—its along the only road going in to Ta Phin village.
