Interesting experience, imho a bit overrated. Tickets can be purchased for cahs also for 3.25EUR. A big crowd inside, if the goal not just transportation - better to wait tram with seats available.
Windows are not that transparent for good photos.

Thus quaint old wooden tram really takes you back to a simpler time in Lisbon’s history when it was one of the only forms of transportation. If you buy a MetroCard, you can do a complete return trip for only €1.90. So many tight corners as the tram winds its way up and down the hills and passes other trams with only inches to spare… These drivers are rock stars!🤩

Riding the iconic Tram 28 is a classic Lisbon experience, offering a scenic journey through historic neighborhoods like Alfama, Baixa, and Estrela in a vintage tram. Ride is bit rough at times, depending on real time road conditions. Highly recommend to take for the experience.

Tram 28 is an interesting, scenic ride through Alfama. The station to board the tram is Martim Moniz - start of the route, so you can grab a seat for sure regardless the time of day. I thought the entire tram ride would take 45-60 min, stopping at the last station Campo Orique (Prazeres), but the ride ended mid-way. I think there's a need to pay to board the tram again to ride the rest of the way. Night ride will offer a much different, enchanting view of Alfama. Older trams only accept cash.

The tram pairs nicely with the architecture of Lisbon and this route takes you through the city's historical area. But I am not sure about the hype - tourists willing to wait hours for the tram. This might cause inconvenience to locals that might depend on it for their errands. Just find a street corner, wait for 10-15 minutes until one show up, and that's enough to enjoy it. Or you can take the train in early morning to full enjoy it yourself.
