We had a wonderful experience with Tortoise at Prison Island. The tortoise are big and old, with one with over 200 years old snd most above 50 years old. They are very big, so many, easily seen and active. The oversized experience of visiting was smooth and affordable.

Prison island is short ride from stone town. The Giant tortoises are the highlights of this island. Many tortoises are found and well taken care. Saw a deer like animal called dik dik and many peacocks. Beautiful place, worth visiting.

Worth visiting! The tortoises are so lovely! There are about 200 tortoises on the island at different ages. You can touch them and take a lot of pictures. There is an entrance fee of 12$/person. Plus you need to pay 3$ before you get on the boat for marine conservation. The boat trip was 10$/ person (shared boat). We also did some snorkeling near the island.

Great place to pause and contemplate the tortoises, of all ages, from baby ones to centenary

I understand the history of the island, but objectively, beyond countless large turtles and parrots, I don't think the money you'll pay (which is not a small amount) for what you see is worth it, my opinion always.
