A wonderful monument atop the hill in a pleasant city park. You can see the monument at the end of the mall, perfectly centered, great for photos and erected in a wonderfully active park. No entry fee.

It's a lovely place to explore in the evening as the light of the flame from the torch lights up the area. There's soldiers on duty and their exchange duties! It's a very popular place with the locals and family as well

This is the mausoleum that Nicolae Ceaușescu built for himself to be buried in. It never happened. Now it is a tomb of the unknown soldier surrounded by a large beautiful well kept park to be enjoyed by the common people of Romania.
The large park is beautiful and peaceful , perhaps the prettiest park in Bucharest. Well worth a visit. The steps from the park to the mausoleum can be steep and plenty for some. You can enjoy the mausoleum without climbing the 96 steps (8 x 12 sets).

This is definitely a significant spot in Bucharest and a beautiful park. Can’t wait to explore this area more. There are other parks within walking distance and nice neighborhoods. The main tomb area is a high point in Bucharest which there are not many . This city is very flat which makes for perfect bike riding terrain!
