The Statue of Milyo in Plovdiv’s Old Town is a charming and quirky landmark loved by locals. Depicting a cheerful man with a mischievous smile, it honors Milyo, a real-life character known for his friendliness and eccentricity. The bronze figure has become a symbol of Plovdiv’s warmth and humor, visitors often stop to take photos or rub his hat for luck. It’s a small but memorable tribute to the city’s lively spirit and its colorful people.

Super nice. It is in the middle of the pedestrian street, with a beautiful stairs behind him. Very interesting the history of this man. Photogenic environment.

Whisper in his ear and he will grant your wish! Come by and talk a bit to Mr. Milyo when you can as he is in the centre of the city! Very fun and nice tradition that we managed to do on our stay!

Miljo Statue - remaked by tourists and locals as well ; the statue represents a citizen who really lived in this town and was quite popular ; it also symbolizes a bohemian spirit and the "take it easy / don't hurry" mood ; it is said that was a bit deaf (one hand it is near an ear, as a funnel), but instead it was quite "gifted" (one hand it's in his pants) ; a local legend tells that if you whisper a desire near his impaired ear, it will become true ; moreover, you can put your hands on his leg

The statue is OK. I don't know the history behind that. The square with the steps is amazing and very artistic. The "together" statue is very nice as well.
