Blackburn Cathedral surprised me in the best possible way. From the outside, it’s an elegant mix of old stone and modern lines — but once you step inside, the real magic begins. I wasn’t expecting to find a huge, flat model of the Earth spread across the floor — like a vast, artistic map reminding visitors how small we all are in the grand design. It’s not something you see in most cathedrals, and it immediately caught my attention.

Such a spiritual place that accepts all. The top of the dome is like a watchtower or lantern. The stained glass is stunning. Also the misericords were great to help the monks rest during long swrvices and ornate.

You do not need to be a part of the congregation to appreciate the beautiful architecture and artwork of the building. The Cathedral, and Cathedral Square have become the heart of Blackburn town centre (despite popular belief, not all cathedral towns are cities), hosting a wide range of contemporary music and visual arts events in addition to the regular services, and choral and classical music performances.

Went here last week to watch Hans Zimmer orchestra play live. A great night and experience. A beautiful cathedral, which is also being used to hold events, concerts, exhibitions and conferences. A fabulous idea if we are to continue with the use of such buildings in future generations. This cathedral is very well maintained and architecturally beautiful and elegant. Such a pity I didn't see a donation box, as I would have happily contributed some funds towards the upkeep. This is one of England'

Very impressed with the grounds and the cathedral, but couldn't understand why there's a turquoise and grey disc covering a large section of the cathedral? Had a look inside and was impressed with the large organ. There's also a small gallery highlighting interesting photography. Toilets and cafe upstairs. Crypt was closed to the public.
