This place is a former house of a slave trader, now turned into a museum to highlight the horror of this inhumane practice. There is a lot of history here, with powerful and moving stories. The visit is well structured, with a clear route that helps understand the full history of slavery. Definitely worth visiting, especially since entry was free.

One very special place every visitor to Doha must see. Especially, Westerners who might feel strongly about the rights of immigrant labour. A well designed and curated museum on the history of slavery in Qatar. A very bold attempt at handling a socially sensitive topic in a conservative society. Informative and well arranged. Bin Jelmood is a must.

Bin Jelmood House Museum showcases historical facets of life in the early period of Qatar.

Galleries in the museum depicts the early opportunities of pearling as livelihood and struggle in the form of slavery.

It provides insight of living in those time through series of multi-media presentations such as photography, audio recordings and short films.

Entry to the museum is mostly free to public except for guided tour.
