China has its own Tsar Bell. Not comparable to our Moscow one, of course, but also impressive. Almost 7 meters high, 46.5 tons in weight and rings so loudly that it can be heard literally for 50 km around. There are 230 thousand hieroglyphs engraved on the bell itself. It is called the Yongle Bell. And unlike ours, which lies on the ground, this one hangs in a temple, which received the name "Temple of the Big Bell" (although its real name is "Temple of Awakening").

So called largest bell in the world. Very nice place to visit and educational but you can't knock the bell. Should visit on a big snow day.

Museum of "Big Bell" is quite small, but interesting place, worth to visit. You can see one of largest bells in the world and about 700 other bells.

Dazhong Temple, commonly known as Juesheng Temple, is over 300 years old. Because it houses the Yongle Bell, it has become an ancient bell museum. The museum's prized possession, the Yongle Bell, is enormous, 1.2 meters taller than the Yongle Bell at the Drum Tower, and weighs 46.5 tons. Just hanging it up was a considerable undertaking. Furthermore, the bell is inscribed with over 100 Buddhist scriptures and mantras in both Chinese and Sanskrit, totaling over 230,000 characters! Music experts l

It is also known as the Dajiangji Ancient Bell Museum. This bell museum displays many large old bells. If you look closely, you'll find some interesting bells with Chinese characters written all over their surface. As well as Chinese bells, the museum also displays Western and Japanese bells, making it a proper museum. It's located about 600m west along the Sanrin Ring Road north of Dajiangji Station on Subway Line 13.
