The Bastion of the Impossible is one of the most fascinating features of the ancient coastal fortifications, directly overlooking the sea along the perimeter of the historic center. An ancient bastion, currently closed to visitors, it dominates the harbor and shipyards. Walking past it, you can see a massive and powerful structure that has stood the test of time. Fig trees grow on its walls.

I liked it. From a historical point of view, it has a lot of value, but it's poorly maintained and neglected, to the point of looking like just an old wall. There's no possibility of visiting it, no historical information, and it's certainly not attractive.

Beautiful bastion.... I remember that in the nineties it was not even visible as it was covered by a mass of shacks and dilapidated warehouses............. (illegal)..........where street vendors sold watermelons and yellow melons........ Thankfully, they had the good sense to eliminate that shame that for decades was at its feet..... 😤😔
