A truly unique and exotic place. The crystal-clear waters make it easy to see the sculptures and many colourful fish with just simple snorkelling gear. It’s a beautiful spot for swimming and observing marine life. The sculptures are about four metres deep from the base to the water’s surface. I tried diving straight to the bottom, and my ears felt a strong pressure, so it’s best to be cautious, as even at that depth you can feel the water pressure. It’s absolutely stunning. Was a dream for me, definitely worth visiting! I highly recommend going around 7:00 AM if you want to enjoy it peacefully. We arrived at 7:15, and there were already some private tours starting. If you come later than 8:00, expect to see over 300 people there, which makes it much less enjoyable.

Last year, I joined one of the cheapest tours, and honestly, it was like hell — super crowded, everyone swinging on top of each other just trying to get a picture. It completely ruined the experience.

The sculptures are beautiful and definitely worth seeing, but the place was very crowded. It was hard to swim without bumping into someone and taking good photos was almost impossible. Best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds

The statues are cool, but the site is so overly crowded. Tens of non-swimmers who splash and kick around, taking others down with them in the process. Several people only trying to get a nice Instagram photo. Nobody has any awareness of their surroundings.

The guides fed the fish to bring them closer.

The Gilis have some great sites for snorkelling. This is not one of them.

Absolutely not worth it, it can become dangerous due to the currents in the channel, and it's not an ecotouristic activity by all means.

We are 2 dive professionals, at the beginning of the low season. We arrived at 6:30 am, and already, people were in the water (who were nice enough to point out the statues to us).
