Barzan Towers

Visited Barzan Towers around midday. Very quiet & very hot. The Manager/Caretaker, a kind hearted soul, took us on a personal tour of the site. He opened up the towers & Mosque. Allowed us go to the top of the towers (be-warned , very steep steps & you need to kneel down to get through the tiny exits). The caretaker gave us tea at the end. May Allah (SWT) reward & bless him.

Barzan Tower It’s about a 10 km drive from Doha (my Uber cost 25 QAR). There’s no entry fee. A staff member near the entrance will ask you to write down your name and where you’re from — that’s all, and then you can enter for free!

There isn’t much to see, though. You’ll find some old towers and buildings where you can climb to the top for a nice view of the surroundings, but you can’t go inside the main structure. My visit took about 20 minutes in total, and I managed to get some nice photos.

While this place is currently under repair, I was able to get in before it all happened. I and my mother were the only people there at the time. Such a peaceful place with an interesting story.

Do yourself a favour and read about it before going as it makes the journey slightly outside the main city even more worth it. A great spot to pretend like you're an old world explorer.

Barzan Tower is located in Um Salal area mid west of Catar, almost 10-15 kilometers far from Doha. Free entry but one from the group should register. A small information about the tower upon entry. We were the only visitors. Two towers. Small house, mosque and garden in one area. Towers is not accessible after few steps of stairs. The same applies to the house and the mosque. Short visit for photography.

This was useful to see if in the area. What would have made it even better is if there was some more information available as not all buildings have boards to explain what they were and you couldnt go to the top of the towers. The sunset in the area was beautiful
