I cannot find this temple until I ask a sweeper staff around. Apparently, it is sitting southwest (diagonally) of the Terrace of the Elephants, a bit hidden and is not truly visible from the road side.
It's a large multi-tiered temple, with its scale and size comparable to Phnom Bakheng. I pass through a stone pathway where I see a pond on both sides, the one on my right side is filled with green moss. There are many stone ruins lying on the ground. Many of the walls have lost their shape too.

Baphuon is a beautiful 11th century “temple-mountain” with steep stairs leading visitors to a terrace which offers one of the best views in the Angkor Archaeological Park. The view is well worth the trek up the steep steps. Quick and interesting temple to visit.

Baphuon Temple is a grand yet understated masterpiece of Angkor, known for its massive scale and elegant symmetry. Built in the 11th century, it represents Mount Meru and once stood as one of the tallest monuments of its time. After decades of meticulous restoration, its layered terraces and serene views offer a powerful sense of Angkor’s architectural ambition and spiritual depth.

Baphuon Temple is truly one of the most impressive and peaceful temples inside the Angkor Archaeological Park. The climb to the top is absolutely worth it—once you reach the upper level, you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and ancient ruins.
The temple’s architecture is incredible, especially the long elevated walkway and the detailed stone carvings. It feels calm, less crowded than other major temples, and perfect for taking beautiful photos.
