There are many deer in this abandoned pond park, yet they are not restless at all.
They don't chase after people; they just walk slowly, heads down, grazing gently,
as if they've long been accustomed to sharing this space with humans.
Walking among them, your pace unconsciously slows down.
There's no sense of being surrounded; instead, there's a feeling of peace— The deer here are very gentle. Worth a visit.

Do we have a fear of crowds? We came up the main road to the vicinity of the Nara National Museum, but seeing crowds of tourists, we used the excuse that we had already visited Todai-ji Temple in the past few days to turn southeast. Continuing uphill, past "Shadow Pine," the house called "Edo San," and "Aoba Tea House," we went downhill, past a clean public restroom, and arrived at the sparsely populated "Araike Garden." Suddenly, all our nerves relaxed.

This lush green meadow, located next to the Huangchi Pond, is called Huangchi Garden.
There were only three or four tourists in the vast Huangchi Garden. With fewer people around, the deer naturally grew bolder. Some lay on the grass, basking in the sun, while others ran and played, looking quite free.
Although there aren't many cherry trees here, the lack of visitors makes it easy to capture photos of cherry blossoms and deer together.
