An amazing house-museum where you can discover the life of a great writer during the pre–World War II Estonian Republic and feel the atmosphere of the intelligentsia of that time — along with some universal truths as well 😉. Authentic everyday items from the 1920s and 1930s are on display, and the museum also offers a somewhat intimate connection to the Tammsaare family. The curator is very helpful — especially if you need to use the WC, which is usually locked, so you’ll probably have to ask th

Their garden and the house itself are stunning. It is likely the most beautiful library in Tallinn as well.
In front of the house is a beautiful sculpture garden, behind the house a mural depicting some of the most famous Estonian writers.
The museum itself is small and ofc all is in Estonian.
