One of the most beautiful monasteries in Bucharest. Brancoveanu style church, with beautiful stone carvings, an impressively detailed carved entrance door and interior frescoes. Beautiful chapel, well-kept courtyard and wonderful tranquility. What's unique is that during communism it was moved about 20 m further back, on metal rails, to make room for Ceaușescu's apartment blocks. That's how it escaped of demolition.

It may seem as if you (a tourist) are not welcomed here; the whole place really looks completely authentic and unspoilt with tourists, but it doesn't mean that you shouldn't get inside. I hope you don't miss this gem of truly old Bucharest.
