We stopped by this little statue on a recent free walking tour of Manchester and learned quite a lot. Firstly, it's true that the face on this bronze statue doesn't look at all like the famous WW2 code breaking Alan Turing. We were informed that this was because it was bought on the cheap in China and they couldn't do faces very well. Hmm...
It's revealing that he is sitting on a bench in this pretty little garden in the Gay village - him being a gay man himself at a time when that was frowned

Worth a visit if you are in the area. Quite near to the Manchester Art Gallery. There is a QR code to scan if you wish. You can sit next to the statue for a photo opportunity with Alan Turing. Well worthwhile for all Alan Turing fans.

Nice little statue of Alan Turing sat on a park bench, set within a small park. There is an information board next to the memorial giving visitors a bit of information about his life. If you are close by in the area it's worth popping by, but probably not worth a special trip from any sort of distance. Free to visit.

This is a cool tribute. A little odd that he’s holding an apple considering that’s how he killed himself after being imprisoned for being gay. This country has loads to answer for the only saving grace is statues like this. Shame they couldn’t have celebrated him more when he was alive.
