Ağaçaltı Church (also known as the Church Under the Tree) was one of the most magical spots we visited in Cappadocia. Tucked away in the Ihlara Valley, it feels like stepping into another world — peaceful, spiritual, and full of history.

The frescoes are simply stunning, especially considering they date back to the 9th century. The vivid colors and detailed Biblical scenes have been beautifully preserved, and the natural cave setting gives the entire place a special atmosphere. It’s quiet, cool

After passing through the Ihlara Valley ticket office and descending the stairs, it's about 10 meters to the right. However, you can see it more clearly if you go down halfway and turn right. The church's original entrance is underground. The current entrance is in the apse section of the gallery, which is considered the second floor. Although many of the paintings inside have faded, there are still Christian paintings made with straw. The paintings were very faded, but still worth seeing. I wis

Nice ruins to visit, beautiful scenery in the middle of the Ihlara valley. Small space so its hard to squeeze the big group when explaining the paintings. But nice place to visit briefly. For history and art lovers or restaurateurs probably quite interesting.
