I personally think this is a must-go spots whenever you stay in Dallas! Get to know a great deal of African American history and culture especially in freeman town and north Dallas communities. Free entry fee and free parking,, we had a great time visiting this place! highly recommended

A museum with lovely staff and rotating exhibitions. There are numerous exhibition rooms all packed with lots of history and information. The highlight of our trip was seeing a collection of paintings by Clementine Hunter.

It is a well curated museum that gives an introspective look at African American History from Dallas and the country at large. From exhibits to art works it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

The docents were amazing! They maintain the knowledge of our ancestors which we should all visit and refill upon! Expire facts you won't get taught until you learn them. Feel the expression of Being Black and Proud is here!
